Privacy Policy and Personal Data Notice

Draft pending legal review: this document was drafted by the platform team based on the notice requirements of Article 8 of Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act and will be reviewed by legal counsel before the official launch. Any changes after review will be published as a new version with its effective date. This English version is provided for reference only; if it differs from the Traditional Chinese version, the Traditional Chinese version prevails.

Green Island GO, the Green Island smart tourism digital platform (the "Platform"), values your personal data. In accordance with Article 8 of Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act (the "PDPA"), the Platform provides the following notice when collecting your personal data. Please read it carefully before making a booking or logging in with your LINE or Google account.

1. Data collector

The Platform is operated by Connectech Co., Ltd. (the "Company"), which is the collector of your personal data. The stores on the Platform (accommodation, diving and snorkeling, vehicle rental, dining, activity and other businesses) provide the services you book, and when a store receives your contact details to fulfil a booking, it must use them only within the scope described in Section 5 of this document.

2. Purposes of collection

  • Fulfilling bookings: creating, confirming, changing and cancelling bookings, and notifying you of booking results, changes and pre-trip reminders.
  • Account services: after you log in with your LINE or Google account, the Platform links the bookings you make afterwards to your account. If you log in with LINE, the Platform may send you booking notifications via LINE; if you log in with Google, the Platform records in your account the email address provided and verified by Google (an email address already in your account is not overwritten), and booking notification emails are then sent to the address in your account first.
  • Customer service and referral: when you ask a store to contact you from its AI chat page, the contact details you leave are passed to that store.
  • Platform statistics and cross-store analysis: for the results report of the government-funded project and for improving the Platform, booking volume, traffic sources and traveler profiles are analyzed in de-identified or aggregated form.
  • Controlling marketing messages: a store may send you marketing messages via LINE only after you have separately agreed to receive them. The Platform does not yet offer this consent option, so stores currently cannot send you marketing messages through the Platform.
  • Information security and auditing: detecting abuse, limiting request rates, and keeping activity records for audits.

3. Categories of personal data collected

4. Period, region, recipients and methods of use

  • Period: from the time of collection until the purpose of collection no longer exists, or until your deletion request under Section 6 has been accepted and completed. The Platform does not yet offer automated retention periods or self-service deletion; such requests are handled manually by the platform team.
  • Region: data is stored on cloud servers located in Taiwan (Google Cloud Taiwan region). To provide LINE and Google account login, LINE notifications, email delivery, SMS and AI customer service, data may be transferred to the countries or regions where the service providers listed below or their servers are located.
  • Recipients:
    • The store you booked with: can see the contact name, mobile number, email address, number of guests and notes of that booking, as well as your booking history at that store and any referral contact details you chose to leave. If you book after logging in with LINE or Google, the store's member list summarizes your number of bookings and spending at that store and any tags the store adds for you. Stores cannot see your bookings at other stores.
    • The Company's platform administration team: handles customer service and complaints, maintains and audits the system, and prepares project results reports. The traveler analytics pages of the platform console show only hashed values, true/false values and aggregated figures, never names, phone numbers or email addresses.
    • Service providers acting on our behalf: LINE (LY Corporation, for login and message delivery), Google (Google Cloud for hosting and database; Google verifies your identity when you log in with a Google account), an email delivery provider (booking notifications and account emails), an SMS provider (only when the Platform enables SMS notifications), and an AI service provider: Anthropic, PBC (United States) — processes what you type on the chat page only after AI customer service officially launches. Under its published policies, content sent through its application programming interface is not used to train its models by default and is deleted from its systems within 30 days (content flagged by its trust and safety systems may be retained for up to two years).
    • Government agencies: the competent authority of the project receives only de-identified aggregated statistics and never data about individual travelers, except where disclosure is required by law.
  • Methods: stored as electronic records and transmitted over encrypted internet connections; notifications are sent via LINE, email or SMS.

5. What stores can see and their responsibilities

Stores can see only the bookings, member lists and referral contact details related to their own store in the merchant console. After receiving your contact details, a store may use them only to fulfil that booking and provide related customer service, and may not use them for any other purpose or give them to third parties without your consent. Write operations performed by stores in the console (for example, changing a booking status) are recorded in audit logs.

6. Your rights and how to exercise them

Under Article 3 of the PDPA, you may exercise the following rights regarding your personal data: to inquire about or review it, to request a copy, to request supplementation or correction, to request that collection, processing or use be stopped, and to request deletion.

How to exercise your rights: please contact the Company by email (the contact address will be published on this page before the official launch), or ask the store you booked with to pass on your request. Requests are currently handled manually; after receiving your request and verifying your identity, we will respond within the period required by the PDPA. Completed booking records and audit logs may need to be retained to the extent necessary for accounting, auditing or legal requirements, and the Platform will restrict their use.

You may also unlink your LINE or Google account at any time on the "My account" page. After unlinking, you will be logged out on all devices and the Platform will no longer identify you through login with that account. Unlinking your Google account does not delete the email address previously obtained from Google and recorded in your account; to have it deleted, please submit a request as described in this section.

7. Consequences of not providing personal data

The contact name and mobile number are required to make a booking; where Section 3 requires an email address, it is also required, as otherwise the store's confirmation and change notifications cannot reach you. If you choose not to provide them, the Platform cannot complete your booking. Logging in with a LINE or Google account is not required to use the Platform.

8. Records of consent and versions

The Platform records the version of this document you agreed to when you submit a booking, records the version of this document you read and the time when you log in with your LINE or Google account, and records the version of the Merchant Terms that each store member agreed to when accepting an invitation. The version of a document is its effective date. If this document is changed, a new version will be published, and earlier versions remain available in the version history on this page.

9. Cookies

For the cookies used by the Platform and their purposes, please see the Cookie Notice below on this page.

10. Contact us

Connectech Co., Ltd. (Green Island GO platform operations team). The contact email address will be published on this page before the official launch; until then, you may ask the store you booked with to pass on your message, and we will contact you as soon as possible.

Cookie Notice

Draft pending legal review: this notice lists, one by one, the cookies the Platform's code actually sets, and will be reviewed by legal counsel before the official launch. This English version is provided for reference only; if it differs from the Traditional Chinese version, the Traditional Chinese version prevails.

The Platform uses only the following first-party cookies set by the Platform itself, and uses no third-party tracking or advertising cookies. The names in the table below match the cookies the code actually sets, and an automated check keeps them in sync.

2. How to manage cookies

You can view, block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Deleting essential cookies logs you out, and you can log in again at any time; blocking essential cookies makes login unavailable. Blocking gi_locale only means the Platform determines the interface language from your browser's language settings instead. Blocking gi_attr does not affect any feature; it only means the source of your booking is recorded as "direct visit".

3. About a cookie consent banner

All cookies used by the Platform are first-party cookies: the four essential cookies are indispensable for login and security flows; the language preference is written only when you actively switch languages; and the source statistics cookie contains no name or contact details and is not shared with third parties. For these reasons the Platform does not currently show a cookie consent banner, and you can manage cookies yourself as described in Section 2. If cookies that require your prior consent (such as third-party analytics or advertising) are added in the future, the Platform will ask for your consent before setting them and will update this notice.

The version of a document is its effective date. Published versions are never modified; changes are published as a new version.
